First day we, humble as we are. Went to the malamute to crag, missed the trail and spent one hour retracing back up on top. ended up doing Paul's Crack before there was to many people around to do anything else of interest. Went straight top the smokebluffs just to get spit of some 5.11b with slab crux, for then retreating to the safety of 5.9 once again, yolo
After spending some time at the crags we went to the apron and tried to climb "Sparrow" it is still unknown if we actually did it. Trying to navigate up and over the granite slabs. I had a little moment high above the last piece on some 5.10ish slab move were I though that finally I was going to slide down the smooth slab like the scared bag of potatoes I was climbing like!
Gluten boy had the first 'crack' at it, (høhø) and it did not take to long before the psyche broke down. And as the footholds thinned out along with the rack there was but one way; down! Leaving two nice nuts up there for someone special ( mom ) and bailing for dear life. I believe those 15 meters looked to intimidating to even try after seeing Gluten's break down up there.
In our disappointment we climbed the first pitch of a neighboring route, before the hour was so late that we needed to leave. In our time of darkness we went to Climb on, and bought equipment as a fix for our pride and checked the forecast seeing that it was going to rain the next 48 we decided to bail hard and fast, leaving 3000cad of Gluten's sleeping gear hanging in a slackline at the Chief campground. Lucky for him some Canadian found and saved his gear!!!
