At night the hills of jotunheimen is so quiet, that you can hear the breath of the world around you. Mid week, there is no one out here. And We are at the doorstep of being complete and utterly alone, in the wild. #Noexcuseforbeeingtacky

had a hike today, it was long. And the goal was this hill inside the country, getting sort of remote. Done a few of these now, and it gets old walking around alone. Specially as your margin of error is none existent. Moving in low angle terrain, minding surrounding terrain. Just like a rabbit out of its hole. Slowly getting antsy about standing around the buffè starving.
Its winter, and so I long for summer. Or at least some exposure ! I miss pressing the side of the foot on small ledges, and the smell of chalk, and dry moss. Even miss playing in the super steep sections on rainy days. I also miss the feeling of looking between your legs, realizing you are actually pretty run out.
A arms length away from the great classics of Jotunheimen, you will find Eidsbugarden Hotell. This is probably the first of many post from this mountain hideaway, at the foot of giants. The Big alpine objectives seems to be close, but yet so far away. But with some time, I'll figure out the corners that need cutting !
Sometimes you find yourself in the luxury that you are producing, more (photo) material than you can put out ! Winter is most definitely one of those times. No matter were you turn there is a new project and a new adventure.
So We went on to climb ice in Todalen, mostly as a compromise to spending gas getting anywhere else. But with the right conditions everything is awseome! More so, we got to scale a few easy waterfalls. And the all time rare classic : Nauståfossen. At this time its not harder than a WI3, as all you have to do is : Follow the mushrooms with the funky looking chandelier's hanging from them.
Extended my secret bag of tricks, with what probably is the; best, compressed, easy to access, steep, inland forest lines I've ever seen. Sogndal will never come close, not even. Neither will Jostedalen, although climate wise, its alike. Trollheimen never gets this kinda funky snow. And no one of the locals like to share, Perfect! There is a analogue roll with sweet shots of powder skiing, and new years shenanigans coming this way any moment. Not even I remember what's on that roll....
TBC - The Lemming is alive Once again a bit higher up in Norway. No snow, warm weather. Washing the car, and acquiring a ski holder. Also got a new helmet and probe, safety first ! Kårvatn hooked me up with a nice Arva probe and the sweet alpinist helmet, without robbing me of all my gas money. So I'm Happy! Next thing I'll be hitting the resorts down south, although it looks as it is about to snow here.
