When I arrived in Canada a lot of things were new to me, but some things stayed the same : Once you are out playing with friends, snow is white and fluffy, skins stick to the skis, skis stick to the slope and slope sticks to ground. It's all good.
We went up to Revelstoke, for the second time. This time there was snow and we slept in a tent-ish. As always when us semi-professionals head out for a rip, we managed to bring all the essentials for basic life support, and some more.
Spent a day in the "small" resort of Revelstoke that "only" had 2 chairlifts and 2 gondolas. Luckily it was cold enough to make a snowman stay inside, so there was not too many people there (The great son of Bavaria actually got a bit white on the nose). Afterwards we had a coffee and discussed the pressing foreign topics before going to the "tent" and having "dinner". Headed into the hills to feel things out, had to make a stop in Glacier National Park center to get winter permits. As they frequently fire upon the surrounding hills with howitzers. . .
Finally we got going! Kept a solid early season speed on the well used track on the way up, happened to wrestle our way past some Canadians that had some sort of AST 1 course while we were shouting profanities and they were apologizing for being in our way. (Canadians ey?)
