When you are right, right where you are. Sogndal got this quality that skiing in the dark actually is a feasible option. Although a bit strange to me, it is truly a great experience in the cold fresh snow. and FYI : It does help to have a portable sun strapped to your head!

There is certain perks of living in a coastal range; Lots of snow, lots of change and a huge steaming pile of warm fronts. And they always seem to give air to Northern pressure to drop by, but only long enough for it to be able to swoop in and take it all away. Once again. it have happen. So, now I'll be facing East. Into the major glacier valley of Jostedalen. Maybe there will be snow. Maybe it is mileage on the car unneeded ? As of now it seems cold. So Ice might be a option if snow turns out shit! It's anyway time for the early season avalanche exercise to get started proper
Made my way down to the Alps of Sunnmøre, with basecamp in the town of Volda. Haven't been down here for a while, so I almost forgot how AMAZING THIS PLACE IS ! Ached bad to get out there, And conditions were surprising good ! I'm just so lucky to be able to get out there with these beautiful people. And More is coming ! Hopefully there will snow more in the next weeks. Giving the conditions we want! So far Sunnmøre have been " Bitch I'm Beautiful " And man; she is!
Just finished a working period at a farm, got enough cash to keep me alive a while. Time to head out, and search.
Search for snow. Search for adventure. But mostly I'm out for a Ripp! In the midst of changing computer, and so stuff tend to show up. So ill fire up a random series of photos from the summer past. Enough work ! headed out, into the high mountain national park of Dovre and Sunndalsfjella. A area famous for moskox and native raindeer tribes. During the trip we managed to hike up one one of the hills in the area, Svåna tind. Its a nice and easy hike but somewhat time demanding. especially as we had to take a longer route as the East ridge had ice/snow plastered on it, Making it a climbing objective. But on the other hand the West side is low angle and easy to stroll up.
Out for a ripp, figured we should climb something. SO we did. Probably the poorest protected 200meters of my life.
On the bright side, it wasn't loose A lot of stuff is happening, and at the same time to little. As usually it seems that things that should not be in focus falls in focus, obscuring the real point of this gap year idea. slowly it might be falling into place. At the same time as the autumn is coming to a end. Last month has been a haze of being a farm-hand and hunting, not too bad. But it kinda gets to restricted to fast. So it will be liberating to see what way the wind blow next. And finally be moving again.
Breathe, breathe in the air Don't be afraid to care Leave but don't leave me Look around and choose your own ground For long you live and high you fly And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry And all you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be Run, rabbit, run Dig that hole, forget the sun, And when at last the work is done Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide And balanced on the biggest wave You race toward an early grave. |
